Town of Greece Receives Restitution Moneys
Supervisor John T. Auberger confirmed today that as per the announcement by the United States Attorney’s Office the Town of Greece has received the full court ordered restitution as determined by the United States Government in the case of United States vs. Schwab et al.
The total funds received by the Town are $1,902,477.00 and have been distributed to the taxing jurisdiction impacted as follows:
Town of Greece General Fund $ 292,277.82
Town of Greece Lighting Fund $ 12,185.76
County of Monroe $ 368,524.40
Greece Central School District $1,081,648.91
Ridge Road Fire District $ 147,840.11
“I assured residents back in 2005 that Town government would make certain that taxpayers were made whole for the actions of these individuals. The receipt of this money brings final closure to this chapter,” stated Supervisor John Auberger. “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Office of the United States Attorney for their efforts on behalf of all of the residents of Greece.”
