Vintage Lane Pavement Resurfacing and
Pavement Striping Improvement

On or about July 16 Villager Construction, working for the Monroe County Department of Transportation, will be starting a pavement resurfacing project on Vintage Lane from Long Pond Road to Mount Read Boulevard. Work is expected to progress rapidly, with an estimated completion date of the week of August 7.

Currently, Vintage Lane is striped to provide two travel lanes in each direction. As part of this project, the portion of Vintage Lane from Long Pond Road to Fetzner Road and east of Route 390 to Mount Read Boulevard will be restriped to provide one travel lane in each direction, a two way center turn lane and 8’ wide shoulders. Vintage Lane between Fetzner Road and Route 390 will retain the same pavement markings that currently exist.

The new pavement markings will provide space for vehicles waiting to turn onto and out of side streets and driveways, provide a wider shoulder area for bicycles, garbage trucks and delivery vehicles, and will likely have a calming effect on vehicle speed.

Traffic will be maintained with daily lane closures during construction. Flaggers will also be used at intersections to guide traffic through the work area. Access driveways and side streets will be maintained, expect when work is occurring directly adjacent to those access points. In those cases, delays will only be a few minutes while the work is completed and construction personnel indicate it is safe to cross the work zone.
