Special Police Volunteers Needed

Greece Special Police Department
Seeking Volunteers

The Special Police Unit of the Greece Police Department is currently accepting applications from candidates interested in becoming Special Police Officers.

Those interested in becoming a member of the Special Police Unit must satisfy qualifications which include, being at least 18 years of age, a United States Citizen, have earned a high school diploma, have a valid driver’s license, and must be medically and physically fit. Applicants must be able to volunteer a minimum of 12 hours per month and be a resident of Monroe County.

The Greece Special Police are New York State certified part-time Peace Officers. Duties may include but are not limited to: traffic and crowd control during emergencies and special events, crime prevention, and patrol duty of town parks and schools. All training, uniforms, and mandatory equipment are provided for Special Police Officers.
