Town of Greece to Participate in
Coastal Watershed Cleanup

Town of Greece will once again participate in the Monroe County Watershed Cleanup event on Saturday, September 15 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon. Cleanup will take place at Braddock Bay, Payne Beach, and the Greece Ponds – Buck Pond, Long Pond, and Cranberry Pond.

This is event is held rain or shine, so participants should come dressed for the weather. Additionally, appropriate footwear, suitable for hiking is recommended. Participants are encouraged to bring a pair of gloves; garbage bags will be provided.

Registration is preferred, but walk-ins are welcome. To register for the Greece Ponds cleanup, contact Paul Sawyko at 753-5441 or psawyko@monroecounty.gov, meet at Goodwin Park on the corner of Edgemere Drive and Long Pond Road; to register for the Braddock Bay cleanup, contact June Summers at 865-6047 or summers@frontiernet.net, meet at Braddock Bay Marina, located at 105 East Manitou Road; to register for the Payne Beach cleanup, contact Scott Copey at 723-2356 or scopey@greeceny.gov, meet at the east end of Lake Shore Drive, just north of the Lake Ontario State Parkway.
