Supervisor Auberger Announces Coastal Watershed Cleanup

Town of Greece to Hold
Coastal Watershed Cleanup

Supervisor Auberger is pleased to announce that the Town of Greece will once again participate in the Monroe County Watershed Cleanup event. The cleanup will take place on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. Cleanup will take place at Braddock Bay, Payne Beach, and the Greece Ponds – Buck Pond, Long Pond, and Cranberry Pond.

“The Coastal Watershed Cleanup is very important for protecting fish and wildlife that inhabit in the various water resources in the Town of Greece,” said Auberger. “In order for our residents to continue to enjoy our waterways, we need to make sure they remain as clean and pollution free as possible, “he concluded.

This is event is held rain or shine, so participants should come dressed for the weather. Additionally, appropriate footwear, suitable for hiking is recommended. Participants are encouraged to bring a pair of gloves; the Town of Greece will provide garbage bags.

Registration is not required, however group registration is encouraged if any special arrangements are needed.
