Permits
- A Town of Greece Field Use Permit is required for sports leagues desiring to use town fields.
- Regular use field permits for spring and summer season should be submitted by the end of February to Constituent Services, One Vince Tofany Blvd. League permits are for a 2-1/2 month play season.
- Extended play, clinic and camp permits need a lead-time of one month, submitted to Constituent Services.
- Tournament permits need a lead time of at least three months, submitted to Constituent Services.
- Game schedules, rosters, and insurance certification are to be submitted with league permits
- Each league will be expected to show proof of liability insurance ($1,000,000) for use of the Town and/or school district fields. The Town or District, as appropriate, will be named as co-insured on the league insurance certificate. A copy of this contract MUST be submitted to the town or school district with the permit or it will not be approved.
- Payment in full for season use is due upon receipt of the approved permit by the league representative.
- All checks made payable to the Town of Greece and all payments made to the Town Clerk’s office, Greece Town Hall, One Vince Tofany Blvd., 14612.
Season Timelines
- No field use prior to May 15.
- Each permit is valid for approximately 2-1/2 months.
- Town field maintenance begins May 15 and ends September 1.
- A field use permit is necessary to use any school or Town field at any time.
Tournaments
- Special permits will be required for tournaments.
- Special emergency procedures, tournament coordinator (name & phone number), copy of insurance certificate, and copy of concession permit, if applicable, must be submitted along with the permit request.
- Setup for special events must meet NY State Building and Fire Prevention Code.
- A timeline of two months is necessary to procure the permit due to the various channels this permit must go through (Police, Safety Council, Human Services, etc.)
- Tournament permits will not be reviewed until all summer league times have been confirmed.
- Tournament event criteria:
- 1 field marshal for every 2 fields
- 1 permanent first aid station at the base location occupied by 1 emergency medical technician
- Field marshals must have portable communication with base first aid station EMT
- All field injuries must be reported to the base first aid station EMT immediately. The base EMT will assess the medical needs. If the situation requires an ambulance, the EMT will make the call for an ambulance.
- A copy of the injury reports must be submitted to the Town Clerk's Office on the next business day following the event.
- Restroom facilities will be scheduled by the Town of Greece and charges will be made to the sponsoring organization when rental is required.
Special Requests
- All set up, extra equipment, and field preparation requests must be made ahead of time. Last minute requests will not be honored.
- Goal posts will not be moved under any circumstances. On fields where there are no goal posts (fields that intersect with baseball fields), goal posts can be rented or borrowed. If we do the installation, there will be a fee attached. If league personnel do the installation, it will be necessary for School District/Town personnel to inspect. Liability is a concern with the goal posting.
- All special requests must be channeled through the permit process and additional fees may be assessed.
Bathroom Availability
- Town bathrooms are open from Memorial Day through October. Field permits on school property do not include inside facility use. Due to numerous neighborhood complaints, it has been decided to place a port-a-john on each school site. The cost of doing this will be passed on to the leagues.
