Meets: 7:00 p.m. 2nd Thursday of each month, Community Room, Greece Town Hall
The Environmental Board reviews the environmental aspects of proposals that are submitted to the Town Board, Planning Board and the Board of Zoning Appeals. The Board also develops and implements projects that increase citizen awareness of environmental concerns.

Mission Statement: To provide review and recommendation on land use issues for the Town boards, staff, residents, applicants or private and governmental agencies to promote the safe and orderly development of the community in balance with property rights, community values and environmental preservation.

About the Board

The Town of Greece Environmental Board is one of four boards within the governmental structure of the Town (Town Board, Planning Board, and Board of Zoning Appeals being the other three).

The Board's primary role is to review plans for proposed development within Greece and provide environmental comments/recommendations to the other three town boards. Development types: residential subdivisions, commercial and industrial applications. Other Board responsibilities include conducting of independent project work, performed outside of regular Board meetings.

Environmental project topics include: erosion/sedimentation control, wetland preservation, pollution control, storm water management, nature trail maintenance, public education, solid waste management, regulatory concerns, tree preservation/planting programs, and water quality issues.
