The Town of Greece Police Department uses two methods to appoint Police Officers:
1) An appointment from the Monroe County Civil Service Commission list of eligible applicants for the position of Police Officer. This testing process must be completed by any applicant seeking employment that does not meet the lateral transfer criteria. You may wish to contact the Monroe County Civil Service Commission (www.monroecounty.gov) to inquire about future examinations for the position of Police Officer.
2) A police officer who has permanent civil service status in the title of Police Officer with another municipality in New York State with the exception of the New York State Police, S.U.N.Y. Police or the City of New York may seek to transfer to the Greece Police Department. The transfer is subject to the approval of the Monroe County Civil Service Commission.
