Inspectional Services
The Inspectional Services Bureau is headed by Captain Steve Chatterton. 
Captain Steven Chatterton - is a resident of the Town of Greece and a 1986 graduate of Greece Olympia High School. Captain Chatterton served 6 years in the U.S. Army Reserves and National Guard. Captain Chatterton has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from S.U.N.Y. Brockport and is 2008 graduate of the N.Y. Law Enforcement Executive Institute. Captain Chatterton started his career as a part-time Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputy in 1989 and was hired by the Greece Police Department in 1990, named police officer of the year in 2000, promoted to Sergeant in 2001, promoted to Lieutenant in 2005, and promoted to Captain in 2010.
Some of Captain Chatterton's duties include:
- Supervise the Internal Affairs Division
- Manage and oversee the personnel complaint system
- Inspects both the Operations and Professional Services Bureau's
- Develop improved systems and procedures
- Assures uniformity in all departmental procedures
- Discovers existing weaknesses and initiates corrective actions
- Promotes teamwork and productivity
- Build and strengthen morale
- Acts as the Public Information Officer
- Ensures the department meets accreditation standards
- Reviews and updates departmental General Orders
- Conducts recruit background investigations
