Patrol Division

Lt. Richard Downs Lt. Jason Helfer Acting Lt. Mark Sundquist
First Platoon Second Platoon Third Platoon
The patrol division, which is part of the Operations Bureau, is the largest section of the Greece Police Deparment and is commanded by Captain Brian Uhrmacher. This section contains 3 Lieutenants, 9 Sergeants, and 60 road patrol officers all divided between 2 precincts and 3 platoons. The 44 square miles which make up the town are subdivided into 7 patrol sectors.
In addition to basic road patrol functions, most officers are involved in specialized units such as evidence technician, rifle team, traffic enforcement, school resource officer, DWI enforcement, motorcycle unit, bicycle unit, ATV unit, and snowmobile unit.
The first platoon runs from 10pm to 6am and is supervised by Lt. Richard Downs. 3 Sergeants and 18 patrol officers help keep the town safe while its residents sleep.
The second platoon starts at 6am and continues until 2pm and is supervised by Lt. Jason Helfer. Much like the first platoon, 3 Sergeants and 17 patrol officers help not only to keep the residents protected, but the thousands of people who commute to Greece for employment.
The third platoon begins at 2pm and ends at 10pm and is supervised by Acting Lt. Mark Sundquist. 3 Sergeants and 25 patrol officers make up the busiest shift in the department. In addition to 3 dedicated traffic enforcement officers, there is a police officer assigned to the Greece Ridge Center Mall. Additionally the K9 team of Officer Sam Ross and his German Sheppard "Hunter" are assigned to third platoon.
