Supervisor Bill Reilich and the Town of Greece Youth Board Host the Jerry J. Helfer Memorial Food Truck Rodeo

Greece Town Supervisor Bill Reilich and members of the Town of Greece Youth Board hosted the Jerry J. Helfer Memorial Food Truck Rodeo yesterday, June 11th, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at Greece Town Hall Campus. This was in conjunction with the first Concerts at the Hall event featuring the Boomers.

The event hosted several food truck participants including are Lugia’s Ice Cream, Barb-B-Que Inc, J&S Fried Dough, Daves Fine Food, Abbott’s Frozen Custard, Cheesed and Confused, Robs Kabobs, and Red Osier. The Town of Greece is grateful to all food trucks that participated this year and all of the people who came out to support the event. The Town of Greece is also thankful for the band “The Boomers”, who entertained guests of all ages with their terrific mix of music that ranged from ballads to boogies.

It was a beautiful day for a concert and a food truck rodeo, with all the proceeds collected going towards the Jerry J. Helfer Youth Engagement Scholarship. Jerry Helfer was a man of exceptional character and virtue who always exhibited kindness to anyone he encountered. Throughout his life, Jerry dedicated his time and talents to making our community a better place. One of Jerry’s first positons in public service was being a member of the Greece Youth Board. Additionally Jerry served as Town Councilman from 2004 until 2013 and as Deputy Supervisor from 2014 until his untimely passing in July of 2014.

 The Jerry J. Helfer Youth Engagement Scholarship provides the Greece community with the opportunity to recognize a student that regularly upholds exemplary moral values, devotes time and energy into helping serve the Greece community, and consistently displays outstanding leadership skills.
