Supervisor Bill Reilich Hosts Annual Town of Greece Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration

On July 4th, 2017, Supervisor Bill Reilich hosted the 4th annual Town of Greece Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration. This event is open to the public and takes place at the Greece Town Hall Campus. The day kicked off at 7:30am with the Town of Greece Freedom Run 5k. Supervisor Reilich would like to thank all who participated, and gives his congratulations to Brandon Miller, who came in first place this year. Following the 5k was the Scooby Doo Stars and Stripes Fun Run for kids, where our young residents had the opportunity to race “Scooby” around the Greece Town Hall Campus. Children’s activities, including bouncy houses and the Library Book Mobile, opened around 4:00pm. Food trucks also opened at that time. The food trucks that participated this year were Lugias Ice Cream, Sullivan’s Charbroil, We Squeeze to Please Lemonade, Robs Kabobs, J&S Fried Dough, Daves Fine Food, and Red Osiers. At 6:00, the first act of the night – Beatlemagic – performed at the Greece Town Pavilion. Following Beatlemagic, Supervisor Bill Reilich took the stage and recognized local representatives who were present at the celebration and introduced the main act of the night: Micky Dolenz the Voice of the Monkees. Around 9:45, an approximately 30 minute long fireworks display began.

“The Town of Greece Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebrations draws thousands every year.” said Supervisor Reilich. “From the 5k in the morning to the fireworks display at night, the day is filled with fun activities for people of all ages. Thank you for all who came out to celebrate with us. I am happy to announce that for the 4th year in a row, we have been able to provide the best fireworks show around and at no cost to taxpayers.”
