SUPERVISOR REILICH ANNOUCES RESIDENTS CAN NOW BORROW BOOKS FROM “FREE LITTLE LIBRARY”

Supervisor Bill Reilich is excited to announce that the Greece Town Hall Campus now boasts a “Free Little Library” from which residents can borrow books. The concept is that families and children get a book from the “library” and also drop off books that they have already read for someone else to enjoy. It is set up so people can keep the books, pass them along, and/or share them as a community – no one is ever required to return the books. Please note that this in no way replaces all of the great opportunities to borrow books from our Greece Public Library!

The “Free Little Library”, which was modeled after Greece Town Hall, was kindly built by the Department of Public Works staff using leftover materials from Town jobs. The weather-resistant model will be permanently placed outside near the Kids Canyon Playground in the Spring. It is currently in the Greece Community and Senior Center and will remain there this Fall/Winter season. The materials used in building the model were plywood, roofing shingles, oil base paint and Lexan plastic for the see-through doors. The dimensions are about 50” long X 17” wide X 25” high.

“I have wanted to bring the “Free Little Library” to the Greece Town Hall Campus after seeing them pop up in other communities” said Supervisor Reilich. “Parents and kids can read the books available while enjoying all of the fun outdoor activities available on Campus!”
