Supervisor Reilich is excited to announce that this year the Town of Greece will be launching a “Giving Tree Project”. This project will provide an opportunity for community members to help families in need during the holidays.
The “Giving Tree” will be located at Greece Town Hall in the atrium from Friday, December 1st – Monday, December 18th. Tags will be placed on the tree indicating the specific item or items needed. Community members are invited to take a tag off the tree, purchase the item, and return the unwrapped item to the boxes located by the tree. At the conclusion of the project, the donated items will be given to Mission Share Outreach Center of Greece, NY.
Mission Share Outreach is a collaborative effort of 13 churches in the Town of Greece to serve those in need year round. If you are interested in learning more about Mission Share Outreach and volunteering with the organization, please visit their website at http://missionshareoutreach.org/.
“I am thrilled to be launching the “Giving Tree Project” this holiday season” said Supervisor Reilich. “I would like to thank the Walmart in Elmridge Plaza for donating the pre-lit tree for the project, and would also like to thank Mission Share Outreach for partnering with the Town of Greece as we bring the spirit of Christmas to those in need this holiday season. Time and again, I have witnessed residents in the Town of Greece stepping up and coming forward to help their neighbors in need. This is truly a caring community and I am so blessed to live in this Town”.
