New Team in Greece Hits the Ground Running: Supervisor Reilich Swears in New Greece Elected Officials

Supervisor Bill Reilich was pleased to swear in the newest Elected Officials that will be representing the Town of Greece. The 2018 Town of Greece Organizational Meeting was held today and the first order of business was to swear in the new elected officials that will be serving the residents in the 2nd and 3rd Wards as well as our new Receiver of Taxes, Andrew Conlon.

Serving the 2nd Ward will be William Murphy. Councilman Murphy will begin his first term replacing former Councilman Brett Granville who was successful in his bid for Greece Town Justice. Murphy, a former Greece Police Officer and former Chief of the Holley Police Department, will bring his experience in public safety and community service to Town Hall. Murphy was joined by family members, including his wife, Cindy, and his son, Paul, who held the Bible, as he pledged to serve the residents in the 2nd Ward to the best of his ability.

Another new elected official, Joshua Jensen, will be representing residents living in the 3rd Ward. Andrew Conlon has held this seat previously. Councilman Jensen was joined by his wife, Casey, who held the bible, and his family as Supervisor Reilich delivered the oath of office. Councilman Jensen has served on our Traffic Advisory Committee and is a member of Senator Joe Robach’s staff.

Taking on his position early in order to assist residents with the pre-payment of 2018 Town and County Taxes, Former Councilman and now Greece Receiver of Taxes Andrew Conlon was sworn into office by Former Greece Receiver of Taxes Kathleen Taylor. Heather Halstead held the Bible for Andrew with his family by his side. Councilman Conlon has been a strong advocate for the residents in the 3rd Ward and will now be serving residents throughout the entire town.

“The residents of Greece are so fortunate to have these new elected officials serving our town” said Supervisor Reilich. “Their combined experience in elected office, community service and civic involvement will make them excellent representatives for those that live in their respective districts. We have many new initiatives planned and we are all eager to work together to serve our residents”.

At the conclusion of the Organization Meeting, the new Town Board members joined in for the first Agenda Review Workshop, which followed immediately after the Organizational Meeting. All meeting dates and times are posted on the Town of Greece website.
