Town of Greece Celebrates 5th Annual Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration: Bringing Back Orleans Band for 5th Year Celebration

Supervisor Bill Reilich is pleased to announce the 5th annual Town of Greece Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration. Since his first year as Greece Town Supervisor, Bill Reilich has focused on bringing family-oriented community events to the Town of Greece. The Old Fashioned 4th of July celebration has become a beloved event – from the Freedom Run 5k in the morning to the spectacular fireworks display in the evening. The event, which is free and open to the public, also features a Super Hero Sprint for kids, children’s activities, food trucks, and performances by well-known music artists.

For the first Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration, Supervisor Reilich brought the wildly-popular band Orleans to Greece for a show. Supervisor Reilich is pleased to announce that in honor of the celebration’s 5th year, Orleans will be returning and introduced as the main performance! This unique pop/rock band has been entertaining fans since 1972.

Opening for Orleans will be a music artist well-known in the Rochester area: Josie Waverly. Josie Waverly has performed all over the United States as a headliner as well as an opening act for many of Nashville’s leading entertainers. Heavily involved in the Greater Rochester community, Josie has been named “Hilton’s Citizen of the Year”, was featured in the Rochester Women Magazine, established the late “Josie’s Country Jukebox” in Spencerport, and much more!

“The Town of Greece Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebrations draws thousands every year” said Supervisor Reilich. “From the 5k in the morning to the fireworks display at night, the day is filled with fun activities for people of all ages. In recognition of the 5th annual celebration, I am excited to bring back Orleans, who performed for us the first year we held the event. Opening for Orleans is someone known well in the Rochester area: Josie Waverly. We are already in the planning stages for this year’s celebration, and are always happy to offer these fun and popular events to residents!”
