Supervisor Bill Reilich and the Greece Town Board Participate in March for Meals Campaign

Greece Town Supervisor Bill Reilich, Greece Council Members Diana Christodaro, Mike Barry, Bill Murphy, and Josh Jensen and Greece Receiver of Taxes Andrew Conlon, along with representatives from the UR Medicine Home Care Program participated today in a nationwide March for Meals campaign, which is a part of the Meals on Wheels Program.

Establish during the 1970’s, the Meals on Wheels Program has grown to become one the largest volunteer-based programs in the country. Every day, millions of meals are delivered across the country to senior citizens who are unable cook for themselves. Every March, the Meals on Wheels program kicks off a month long campaign to help encourage local organizations to get involved and assist in delivering meals to senior citizens in the community. This will be the 16th year the March for Meals Campaign has been organized locally.

“Again this year I was joined by the Greece Town Board Members, the Greece Receiver of Taxes, and representative from the UR Medicine Home Care Program for the March for Meals Campaign, where we helped to deliver food to senior citizens in the Greece Community. This wonderful program helps to generate public awareness about senior hunger and isolation and to celebrate the critical role the Meals on Wheels Program has in our community. I would like to encourage all municipalities and residents to step up and volunteer their time in participating in the March for Meals Campaign and help bring meals to their community’s senior citizens” said Supervisor Reilich.
