This morning, Supervisor Bill Reilich was joined by Greece Town Board Members Mike Barry, Josh Jensen, Bill Murphy, and Diana Christodaro, Greece Receiver of Taxes Andrew Conlon, and local Chick-fil-A Owner Alan Taylor and many of his family members, friends, and staff for the ribbon cutting ceremony announcing Chick-Fil-A is open for business! A crowd gathered to celebrate the grand opening, including all of the people who have been camping out these past couple days in hopes of winning free Chick-fil-A meals throughout the year. A constant flow of people were coming through both the restaurant line and drive-thru lanes for their first Chick-fil-A meal in Monroe County.
This Georgia-based fast food chain is located at 2140 West Ridge Road in Greece and includes two drive-thru ordering lanes and a two-story playground for children. The 5,056 square foot restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, is open 6:30am – 10:00pm Monday through Saturday, and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. More than 120 people have already been employed, and more could be hired depending upon demand.
Chick-fil-A prides itself on fresh food preparation, parenting-friendly menus, and environmental sustainability. Many of their items are hand-prepared daily, including hand-chopped salads made throughout the day, hand-breaded chicken, and hand-spun milkshakes. Owner and Greece resident Alan Taylor plans on giving back to the community by partnering the local franchise with area charities.
“I was honored to join Chick-fil-A representatives for the ribbon cutting ceremony of this highly-anticipated business” said Supervisor Reilich. “I am always excited to help bring new businesses to the area, and I was very pleased when the Town of Greece received an application from Chick-fil-A. I recognize that they could have established their business anywhere in Monroe County, but chose to establish in the business-friendly Town of Greece. I am incredibly proud that they chose our Town, and wish owner and Greece resident Alan Taylor and his team great success! I am delighted to declare on behalf of the Greece Town Board and all Greece residents that April 12, 2018 is Chick-fil-A Day in the Town of Greece!”
