Supervisor Bill Reilich Thanks Community for Participating in Town of Greece Giving Tree Project

Supervisor Reilich would like to thank everyone who participated in the Town of Greece Giving Tree Project this year. This project provided an opportunity for community members to help families in need during the holiday season. Ornament tags were placed on the tree indicating the specific item or items needed, and community members were invited to take an ornament off the tree, purchase the item, and return the item to the box located by the tree in the Greece Town Hall atrium.

At the conclusion of the project, the donated items were given to Mission Share Outreach Center of Greece, NY. Yesterday afternoon, Supervisor Reilich was joined by Mission Share Outreach members Dan and James, Community and Senior Center Director Peter O’Brien, Deputy Director Lisa Letta, and members of the Constituent Services team Linda Sofia and Michele Fiannaca as the Mission Share van was loaded with the donated items.

Mission Share Outreach is a collaborative effort of 13 churches to serve those in need year round. If you are interested in learning more about Mission Share Outreach and volunteering with the organization, please visit their website at http://missionshareoutreach.org/.

“I have had the honor of witnessing community members selflessly give this holiday season as they bring the spirit of Christmas to those in need” said Supervisor Reilich. “This is truly a caring community and the ways in which our community comes together to support one another makes me very thankful to live in this town”.
