Greece Town Supervisor Bill Reilich would like to remind residents that signup forms for the Annual 5K Freedom Run are available on the Town of Greece website under the “Special Events” tab on the lower right hand corner of the website. You may also register through the Run Sign Up Website at https://runsignup.com/Race/NY/Rochester/Greece5KFreedomRun. Hard copy registration forms are also available on the second floor of Greece Town Hall, 1 Vince Tofany Boulevard. The 5K Freedom Run will be part of the Town of Greece Old Fashioned Fourth July Celebration.
Packet pickup will take place on Monday, July 1st, Tuesday, July 2nd, and Wednesday, July 3rd at the second floor of Greece Town Hall from 9am-5pm. A t-shirt will be given to every person who pre-registers. A medal will be given to every person who finishes the race. The cost of pre-registration is $25/person.
Check-in will take place at 7:00am on July 4th at the Greece Town Hall Campus and the race will begin at 7:30am. Day-of registration will be available. The cost of day-of registration will be $30/person. The course will begin and end near the Town of Greece Court House (4 Vince Tofany Boulevard). Timing for the 5k will be conducted by Yen Timing Services. The course map is available on the Town of Greece website under the “Special Events” tab on the lower right hand corner of the website.
In addition to the 5K Freedom Run, the Town of Greece will also be hosting a “Super Hero Sprint” for children. This event will begin at 9:00am and will be one mile in length. Each participant will receive a t-shirt and a super hero mask. Register in person at the Greece Community and Senior Center or online at www.greeceny.gov/departments/cscparks. Registration is available thru July 4th for $6/child.
