During Tuesday night’s meeting of the Greece Town Board, Supervisor Reilich and Greece Town Board members Mike Barry, Bill Murphy, Josh Jensen, and Diana Christodaro recognized and presented proclamations to some influential members of our community.
Greece residents Joe Janowicz and Ken Wheaton collaborated to create a comic book titled “Dreamer”, which tells the story of 14-year-old Franklin Johnson who suffers serious injuries while saving children from a hospital fire. His injuries force doctors to put him in a coma, during which time Franklin wakes in a dream state and discovers that he can travel into handicapped children’s dreams and help them overcome their fears by harnessing their inner strength. While his doctors debate whether or not to end his coma, Franklin races against time to help and encourage as many children as possible.
“Dreamer” will be available in hospitals, schools, and comic book shops, and part of the proceeds will be donated to the Golisano’s Children’s Hospital. Plans have been made to continue the series and future issues will explore the lives of different children and their individual disability.
“I would like to thank both Joe and Ken for their collaborative work to create a comic book that will be an encouragement to children with disabilities” said Supervisor Reilich.
