Supervisor Reilich Announces Fuel the Frontline Event in Conjunction with Mask Distribution Event

Supervisor Reilich and the Greece Town Board announce a “Fuel the Frontline” event in conjunction with a mask distribution event that will be launching this Saturday. The Town of Greece will be joining towns throughout Monroe County for a mask distribution effort.

The first mask distribution for Greece residents will take place this Saturday, May 9th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. We will be issuing masks for our residential households and will be distributing them from our DPW facility. A subsequent event will be planned for Wednesday, May 13th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. We have staggered the times to allow for both essential and non-essential working households to participate.

We are hopeful that while you or your neighbors are stopping by to pick up your masks that you might consider helping us help those who are on the front lines. Greece residents and sister-in- laws Melissa and Michelle Yeager started Fuel the Front Line when COVID-19 first started to be realized as a mounting concern. They have been collecting items and delivering them to local hospitals, nursing homes and other care facilities as a way of saying “thank you” to those that are tirelessly taking care of people affected by the virus.

The target of this collection drive will be supporting frontline workers in Greece. Contributions will be taken to Hamilton Manor, Wegman Family Cottages at Park Ridge and the Latta Road Nursing home.

Items that are particularly needed include:

  • Individually wrapped snacks (i.e. chips, nuts, protein bars, single serve cereals, fruit snacks, wrapped candy, gum, etc.)
  • Cases of single-serve drinks (i.e. Gatorade, soda, iced tea, seltzer water, etc.)
  • Cards and notes of thanks and encouragement – so you can get your kids involved as well.

“This is the perfect time to come together and support another great effort that has been put forth during this COVID crisis” said Supervisor Reilich. “Please consider helping out by dropping off any items you’d care to contribute while you visit us on Saturday to pick up your mask. Just put the items in a bag or box and place them either in your trunk or your back seat and we will have someone remove them from your car for you. I will keep you posted for further specifics of the distribution plan”.
