The Town of Greece is disappointed to have to cancel the Town of Greece Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration for 2020. The Town of Greece has been waiting for guidance from the State of New York to advise what the crowd-size limitations will be for July 4th. We still do not have the guidance on crowd size and given logistics and planning we cannot continue to wait and must unfortunately cancel this family event.
“The decision to cancel the Town of Greece Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration was not made lightly. We really wanted to have the 4th of July celebration for our community, which has already been through so much throughout COVID-19. In fact, we held off as long as possible in cancelling the celebration, hoping that the State would provide more clear guidance on what will be allowable. We are disappointed by the lack of clarity and direction from the Governor with regards to lifting the limitation on the number of people who may gather for 4th of July events. Thank you all for your understanding of this difficult decision we were forced to make. We will certainly plan to make next year’s Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration even bigger and better in 2021” said Supervisor Reilich.
