Greece Town Supervisor Bill Reilich Announces Logo Contest Winner

Earlier this year, Greece Town Supervisor Bill Reilich invited Greece Town residents to submit original renderings for the official logo to be used as we prepare to celebrate the Town’s 200th Birthday.

March 22, 2022 marks the two-hundred-year anniversary of the Town of Greece! Originally called Northampton, the town was named after the country of Greece, which was fighting a war of independence from Turkish rule. Planning for this historic bicentennial celebration has already begun and we look forward to celebrating Greece’s rich history as one of the largest municipalities in New York State.

To officially kick things off, Supervisor Reilich opened an opportunity to all Greece residents and businesses who were interested in submitting a logo idea to be used on all official literature, documentation and social media relating to the Town’s plan to celebrate this historic event.

In the upcoming months we will begin to organize activities and events all in honor of the Town of Greece 200th birthday celebration. Keep tuned to Bill Reilich Greece Town Supervisor Facebook page and the Town website for future announcements as we work to celebrate 200 years together.

We received amazing submission from all ages – from school-aged children to seniors and everyone in between! Many designs were submitted and each one was unique. It was certainly difficult to narrow down a winner!

Congratulations to our logo contest winner: Sarah Pearlman Ventura. Sarah is actually an award-winning graphic designer and owns a business: https://www.pearlmangraphicdesign.com/

“Since announcing the logo contest earlier this year, we have received many designs from Greece residents. Each and every design submitted was creative and wonderful. The time and effort these individuals put into the designs was obvious. I would like to congratulation Sarah Pearlman Ventura, our logo contest winner! Thank you to everyone who participated in this unique opportunity to celebrate our community’s historic milestone” said Supervisor Reilich.
