Yesterday, Greece Town Supervisor Bill Reilich and Director of Planning and Economic Development Scott Copey met with Phil Fitzsimmons and Billy Owens from Paneffort and discuss the town’s ongoing support as they move toward locating in the old “Sams” location of the plaza.
Supervisor Bill Reilich and his team have kept a keen eye on this plaza ever since it fell into bank-owned status. While being diligent in efforts to keep the code maintenance issues in check (parking lot, litter, etc.) and working with the bank, they have always prioritized offering any assistance possible to get this occupied. They are thankful for the efforts of Jay Wegman’s company and their partners in purchasing the plaza and working with the Town to secure tenants.
This is another example of the great work being done here in Greece in our newly formed Economic Development Department. Their work combined with our new adaptive re-use zoning provisions made it possible for Paneffort to occupy a great deal of space in the plaza and to allow for their business to grow. The business has been very busy trying to keep up with the PPE needs caused by the pandemic and they continue to grow and explore additional business opportunities in the health care supply field.
“The Elmridge Plaza revitalization plans continue” said Supervisor Reilich. “Please join me in welcoming Paneffort and their employees to our wonderful town. They are joining a growing number of businesses interested in the plaza which has already seen new occupants set up shop. My team and I will continue to be proactive, working to fill our vacant spaces and also embracing new development in our business corridor”.
