Supervisor Bill Reilich Announces Two New Businesses Coming to Greece

Greece Town Supervisor Bill Reilich is excited to share the news that two new businesses will soon be calling the Town of Greece home. Welcome Hobby Lobby and Tom Wahl’s!

Hobby Lobby will be locating in the former Ashley Furniture store in Ridgecrest Plaza at the corner of West Ridge and Fetzner Roads. Construction will begin soon on a 12,000 square foot expansion, making the new store almost 70,000 square feet in size. Zoning provisions adopted last year as part of our new economic development initiative made the expansion possible, sealing the deal for Hobby Lobby to come to Greece and following through on our Comprehensive Plan strategy of encouraging “Growth without Sprawl”.  We are so excited to welcome them to town, giving residents another choice to shop without having to venture out of Greece. Additionally, operating in their Maiden Lane location since 1999, Carmines became a household name in Greece. Sadly with the closing of this cherished location, we are happy to be able to announce that Tom Wahl’s will be moving into their former location and they will be adding on 1,800 square feet to the space. Backfilling vacant spaces is always a priority. Town officials met with Tom Wahl’s representatives to help them obtain necessary approvals so that construction can start before the holidays for a springtime opening.

“Greece continues to be a very desirable place to live, work and raise a family – we have great eateries, activities and shopping options” said Supervisor Reilich. “The town’s new economic development focus is making Greece more attractive to business, bringing investment to existing commercial areas, and attracting quality retailers and restaurants like Hobby Lobby and Tom Wahl’s. We’ll continue, through our newly formed Economic Development department, to work to bring new businesses into town for our families” Reilich concluded.
