Greece Town Supervisor Bill Reilich has announced that the Town of Greece is accepting applications in an effort to assist local non-profit food distribution services.
In response to combating the effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has allocated to the Town of Greece supplemental Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to be used to prevent, prepare, and respond to the impacts created by the pandemic. As a result, the Town of Greece is soliciting proposals from local non-profit organizations which offer food distribution services (e.g. food banks/shelves), to help offset the increased demand for services caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Eligible organizations wishing to submit proposals for funding assistance should complete the attached form and return it to Ivana Casilio, CDBG Administrator, in the Office of Community Development, One Vince Tofany Boulevard, Rochester, New York 14612, no later than 4:00pm on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. Questions may be directed to 585-723-2284 or icasilio@greeceny.gov.
“The financial impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic was felt by organizations across our community” said Supervisor Reilich. “We are thankful to receive funds to assist our Greece community food distribution centers in preventing, preparing for, and responding to the impacts of the pandemic. I invite all Greece food distribution centers to submit an application to be considered for assistance”.
