Supervisor Reilich Announces Historic Resources Survey Available to View

This year the Town of Greece is celebrating its 200th bicentennial anniversary! Throughout 2022, the Town will be celebrating this significant milestone with a variety of events and services for residents that commemorate our two hundred year history and progress as a town and community.

As part of that effort, Supervisor Reilich is pleased to announce the release of the Town of Greece’s Bicentennial Historic Resources Survey. The survey is an online, living archive of maps, images, information and historical narratives documenting Greece’s heritage in an accessible format that is easy to navigate for people of all ages. The survey will be maintained by the Town Historian and utilized to share the highlights of our history that have contributed to Greece being the great town and community it is today.

“Think of it as a book with unlimited pages, where we can share information about our history in new and creative ways that are engaging to residents of all ages” said Supervisor Reilich. “What better way to celebrate the Town’s bicentennial than reflecting on our history, the neighborhoods, business districts, waterways and people that are the fabric of our community and I invite and encourage all of Greece’s residents to take the time to utilize it”.

The Bicentennial Historic Resources Survey is the completion of yet another recommendation of the Town’s 2020 Comprehensive Plan.
