Greece Town Supervisor Bill Reilich, the Greece Town Board, and the Greece Center Staff Unveil Center Expansion

The long-awaited day has come! This morning, Greece Town Supervisor Bill Reilich was joined by Greece Town Councilmembers Mike Bloomer, David DiPonzio, Diana Christodaro, Bill Murphy, and former Councilman Mike Barry, along with the Greece Center Staff and all those involved in the project for the grand opening of the new Center expansion.

“I would like to thank our construction team, my management team that assisted throughout the project and our incredible Recreation staff.  Today was the culmination of nearly two years of planning and construction and we are thrilled to be able to open the doors for our community” said Supervisor Reilich. “Since taking office I have always prioritized the health and safety of the residents of Greece as my top priority. Being a good steward of tax dollars has also been paramount. Today we unveiled another amenity for the families in Greece that was constructed without any borrowing. By utilizing grants and careful fiscal management we were able to turn over this space to the community debt free while once again reducing the town tax rate” Reilich concluded.

The new expansion features 30,000 square feet of new space.  hen combined with our previously renovated space we are now able to offer 60,000 square feet of space dedicated to the health and wellness of our community. We have added a wellness center which features cardio and circuit training equipment, a dedicated cycling studio, a barre room, and several new programs spaces, both large and small.  Additionally, our new expanded walk track is 1/5 of a mile long and we are happy to share that, at the request of our regular walkers, there is a ton of sunlight. Walkers (and runners) can enjoy the beauty of the great outdoors and walk comfortably despite the actual weather outside.

To learn more about what The Center has to offer and to register for a membership, please call 723-2425 or email GreeceParksandRec@Greeceny.gov. “Sample classes” will be available over the next few days for members of the Greece community to experience some of the offerings of this new expanded space.
