The beloved Town of Greece Old Fashioned 4th of July Event was held Thursday, July 4th in celebration of Independence Day. This is an annual event that the Town of Greece organizes and hosts at the Greece Town Campus. This popular event is free and open to the public.

The day kicked off at 7:00am with the Freedom Run 5k. Supervisor Reilich would like to thank all who braved the heat to participate in the 5k. Following the 5k was the Super Hero Sprint for kids.

Evening festivities picked up around 4:00pm with the opening of several food trucks, including local favorites J&S Fried Dough, Lugias Ice Cream, Wraps on Wheels, Mr. Squeeze Lemonade, Kona Ice, Mary’s Food, Melt Food Truck, Macarollin’, Snowie Shaved Ice, Sugary Delights, Sammie’s n’ Sweets, Robs Kabobs, and Al & Steve’s Steakout. Family-friendly and children’s activities were in full swing as kids enjoyed bounce houses and games and were treated to a free book from the Library Book Mobile “Free Books for Kids” cart!

Our opening act, Country Recording Artist JB Aaron, took the stage around 6:30pm. JB Aaron was born and raised in Niagara Falls, NY but is now based out of Nashville, TN. He has shared the stage with or has opened shows for various artists over the years including Tim McGraw, Miranda Lambert, Chris Young and Kid Rock just to name a few. Around 8:00pm, our featured performers took the stage: Jefferson Starship! Jefferson Starship is one of the most successful arena rock groups of the 1970s and 80s, earning 3 platinum and 8 gold records, as well as numerous Top 40 singles.

The huge celebration ended with a bang – literally! The Town of Greece is proud to have one of the best fireworks displays in Monroe County, and this year did not disappoint. Supervisor Reilich would like to thank everyone who came out to enjoy Independence Day in the Town of Greece!
