License your dog

Licensing your dog is required by New York State Agriculture and Markets Law and the Municipal Code of the Town of Greece. There are fines for owners with unlicensed dogs. A dog license is not only a requirement, it also provides the following benefits:

  • It helps identify your dog in case it gets lost and facilitates reunification
  • It identifies your dog as owned with a family and a home
  • Animal Services will contact you if your dog is found wearing a license tag
  • The license is proof that your dog has been vaccinated against rabies
  • Dog licenses are required for use of County dog parks
