Did you know?

  • 70% of lost dogs are found within one mile of their homes
  • 40% of lost cats are found within 500 feet of their homes
  • Reunification rates are much higher when found pets remain in the neighborhoods where they are found compared to those brought to animal shelters.

Steps to Reunite Dogs With Owners

  1. If possible, secure the dog. If dog cannot be safely secured, call Greece Animal Services at 585-581-4025
  2. Upload the dog’s photo and information on Petco Love Lost
  3. Check for ID tag and scan for microchip to get in touch with owner
  4.  Post on the Town of Greece Lost and Found Pets Facebook Page
  5. Print and post FOUND PET signs within a mile of where the dog was found
  6. Walk the dog around the neighborhood, knock on doors, as if people know the dog or possible home
  7. Find a safe place to keep the dog for a short period of time
