Supervisor Reilich Welcomes Governor Cuomo

Supervisor Bill Reilich today is pleased to announce that Governor Cuomo made a visit to the Town of Greece to visit areas of flood damage and speak with victims.  Since the first signs of the ill effects of the rising waters on Lake Ontario, the Greece Town Board and Supervisor Reilich have been all hands on deck.

While here, the Governor announced a $500,000 payment to reimburse the Town of Greece for infrastructure damages incurred by the town. This is great news for our Town of Greece taxpayers. Additionally, the Governor has joined our voices to have the IJC release as much water as possible. While this is good news, we are far from done as we continue to fight the IJC and provide information and resources to our Greece residents who have been affected by the rising lake levels. Additionally, the Governor was here for the installation of a new aqua dam. The aqua dam is much wider and denser than the previous one and is holding well.

Here today at Greece Town Hall is the Insurance RV and representatives from Sheen Housing. If your property has been damaged due to the lake levels, please stop by. The Insurance RV is located in the Greece Town Hall parking lot with professionals who can help answer questions about how to handle claims and other insurance-related matters. The representatives from Sheen Housing, which is a not-for-profit housing organization, are answering questions and assisting lakefront residents in filling out Lake Ontario Flood Recovery applications.  They are located at the Greece Town Hall First Floor Community A Conference Room. They will be here until 5pm today.

“Today’s announcement of a $500,000 reimbursement to the Town of Greece for infrastructure damages incurred by the town is great news for our taxpayers. Financial assistance to lakefront residents continues to be my top concern and priority.”  said Supervisor Reilich.
